The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is the world's only natural environment-based breeding conservatory for giant pandas, designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The facility features terraced bamboo forests and modern laboratories that support the conservation and juvenile home training of over 190 pandas on a 375,000-square-meter site.
