Located in the former Santa Ana neighborhood, this area preserves 18th-century colonial adobe and stone residences integrated with 19th-century neoclassical ecclesiastical architecture. The district is named for its historically damp climate, resulting from its low elevation and proximity to the seasonal Rio Verde riverbed.
